Soo....after 6 months of not writing anything in my blog I`m back to complete it...and hopefully continue it...
Sooooo just a few points of interest.
During Golden Week April 28th-May 8th(a Japanese holidy that starts at the end of April until beginning of May) I went with Steph, Chingyi, and Keri to Fukuoka for 2 days, Nagasaki for 2 days, and Okinawa for 4 days (went to Naha the first day and then went to a beach resort area for the last 3 days) and lastly, Tokyo for 3 days. Good fun vacation with the girls and had many hilarious adventures with them. Ate lots of good food and bought waaaaaaaayyyyy too much Chinsuko cookies....lol Steph bought a trunk load of beni-imo tarts....=P
I remember we kept complaining about the lack of hot men anywhere except beautiful Fukuoka. I have to say that Fukuoka is now one of my favorite places to go and I intend to go there more often. The night life there is also amazing! Man, I already want to go back. We took some awesome pictures and had a wonderful conversation time sitting next to the Tenjin river and watching some guys doing tricks on their bikes. We went to the Fukuoka tower, Ohori Park, Hawks Dome, Canal city and just did alot of wandering. And we ate all the famous foods. We were just so in awe of a big city after living the Hokkaido life.
Nagasaki was just rainy allllll the time. And plus the men there were just....no....lol But we visited the important atomic bomb places there. It was my second time going to an a-bomb museum (the first being in Hiroshima) and it wasn`t any easier to get through. I cried again after that and we all needed ice cream afterwards. We then rode up a ropeway to get to the top of a mountain to take in the nightview of the city. Apparently, Nagasaki is one of the top 3 nightview spots in all of Japan; Hakodate being one of them. We also visited Megane-bashi and walked around alot.
Afterwards we hopped on over to Okinawa and went to check in to our "guesthouse" in Naha. Wow. It was just one huge room full of 3 tiered bunk beds. Enough for 15 girls...and there were probably 11 or so girls in the room that night. 1 toilet, 1 shower. For 15 girls. In a very hot and humid room with no wind passing through. Yeah, none of us really slept well that night or took a shower and just left early the next morning to get our rental car and head for our beautiful beach resort. The resort was wonderufl, our room was wonderful! I absolutely loved this resort and the beach!! The water was SSOOOOOO BLUE!! Too bad it was raining most of the time with only about 30 minutes of sunlight each day.
After a wonderful couple of days at the beach, we left for Tokyo. In Tokyo we stayed in Shin-Okubo which is the Korea town of Tokyo. HOT KOREAN BOYS EVERYWHERE!!! MAN!! Anyways, it was nice to stay there and go shopping and meet up with Kuma and Jun (my previous conversation partners/students at UCI from Doshisha) and Tyler! Good times.
Then I came back and went to work. Nothing really exciting happened between then and now. Just have become busier. OH! I started up my hip hop class! It`s once every twoo weeks for an hour each and Ihave about 10-15 students. It`s a lot of fun to teach and dance with them, but really hot in this summer weather.
Now it`s already August, and my old JET friends have left to start their new adventure back in the states or wherever they are going. I wish them the best of luck and that I`ll miss them very much!
But! There are new JETS!!! I just came back yesterday from presenting at Sapporo Orientation. And I met quite a lot of the new JETs. They were awesome and I look forward to meeting them again. I`m incredibly exhuasted today but had a wonderful time.
First night we got there we went to eat Shabushabu in Susukino and then went to Red Bar near the Sapporo station area. Awesome place. Second day was the Sapps orientation and then in the evening we went to eat at the new Kirin Beer garden which was beautiful and delicious! Next day was the beginning of my presentations which I was nervous for, but I was able to do my presentation well enough. I hope they found it useful, or will find it useful. Anyways, that`s the end of my post this time. But I hope to post more in the future.
